Ecc.3 v1-8
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
This beautiful song speaks about how God can turn mourning into dancing, how he'll make all things beautiful but it will be in his time, not ours. This really means that we need to hold strong to the promise he gives us, as all too often we expect imediate answers to our prayers and we expect them to be answered in the way that we want rather than the sometimes creative way that God chooses to answer them.
Verse one begins "In his time" but as the song is sung we see a deepening of the personal realtionship with God as the words change to "In your time".
In His time, in His time,
He makes all thing beautiful in
His time.Lord, my life to You I bring,
May each song I have to sing,
Be to You a lovely thing,
in Your time.
In Your time,
in Your time,
You make all thing beautiful in Your time.
Lord, my life to You I bring,
May each song I have to sing,
Be to You a lovely thing,
in Your time.
